There is often one thing that prevents those who seek a true “digital nomad” lifestyle from actually doing so: building and creating a profitable online income that is sustainable, and flexible enough to support themselves while they travel the world. It is no easy feat. Working online for yourself requires self-motivation, commitment, and drive to be able to be accountable to yourself and bring enough money in monthly to make it happen. If you dream of living a lifestyle where you can live wherever and work whenever, then this post is for you.
A few years ago when I was getting the itch to travel more and be at my cubicle less, I would scour the internet for articles, inspiration, jobs, something that could help me create a meaningful career but still allow me to do it while seeing the world. Fast-forward to 2019, and I've not only replaced my desk job salary with my online income, but I've been living this location-independent lifestyle for almost 2.5 years.
From reading your email replies and messages, many of you have expressed the desire to be able to have a meaningful career while not giving up the ability to travel the world whenever you want to. Here are some popular routes to creating an online income I came across, that I've since learned are typically a "slower route" for earning an online income.
Since many of you post travel photos on Instagram and often use the platform for blogging, landing freelance work, or to support your resume for your work + travel lifestyle, I have to share with you the exciting new update that Tailwind (a scheduling app for Pinterest and Instagram) came out with that helps you find the best hashtags for your posts!

Read on for my story and decide if this is something you may want to consider as well!
Do you dream of making the world your office? Do you want to ditch the desk and travel the globe without sacrificing your paycheck? It honestly isn't too good to be true and you don't have to get involved in some sketchy get-rich-quick scheme to make a work + travel lifestyle a reality.
After blogging on this topic for years, I've noticed that most people asking for advice on creating a work + travel lifestyle either want to a) have a job where travel is part of the job (versus being based in a foreign country), or b) want to live a location-independent lifestyle so they can work while they travel, wherever and whenever. I wanted to extract 15 of the "best" jobs in my opinion - those that are realistic, offer decent travel benefits or opportunities to travel, and what people actually seem to enjoy according to people I've talked to or blog posts I've read. I've split this list in half, with 10 work-while-you-travel opportunities, and 5 work-online opportunities.
