I can’t believe it didn’t hit me until April of my senior year that I could get a travel job. That there are jobs out there that actually allow you to travel. Or jobs centered around traveling. That you can get paid to travel, in exchange for work!
I tried to plan out a 2-month backpacking Europe trip with a friend, which downsized to 2 weeks, to 1 week, and we still couldn’t afford it, looking for a travel job instead was a no-brainer.

The issue is that oftentimes we get lost while thinking about what we want, and forget about the middle section - the most important part - GOALS!
Looking for a travel job? There are many posts online that list the various travel jobs out there, like teaching English, working for a summer camp, or running an online business anywhere in the world. You might skim one of those lists and go, hmm, that sounds cool or yeah, I'd never do that.
But how do you know which travel job is right for you?
Since time is such a big factor when it comes to traveling, the length of time you'll be working your travel job is the best place to begin in terms of figuring out which travel job is right for you.
Okay, so you've decided you want to live a work + travel lifestyle, and you're ready to start searching for travel jobs! Cool. Before you can live your epic adventure, you need to first get organized. Travel jobs won't just fall into your lap; you need to get out there and make it happen. Even if that means getting your name out there with your dream travel company, or simply saying "YES!" to an opportunity.
Everyone wants to travel, but the age-old responses always come up: "I don't have time."
"I don't have the money."
"I don't know where to go!"
These are valid responses but there are ways around them, especially when it comes to working abroad. Trust me :) I've been living a work + travel lifestyle for the past 2+ years.
I've held three international travel jobs across Europe and Asia, one of which I did on vacation while working full time for someone else.
So you know I've gotten creative over the past couple of years because my never-ending wanderlust wouldn't let me do so otherwise! Working abroad made that possible.
