How to Expand your Comfort Zone to Align with the Next Version of Your Digital Nomad Life

We are constantly evolving and changing. Small changes add up over time.
Every day/month/year brings forth a new version of who we are.
Consciously making decisions to choose how to grow into the next version of you is key if you want to make some sort of change in your life that is quite different than what you are currently experiencing
(as in, you want to start a business and travel the world, you want to get to a new level in your business, you want to feel more energized and healthy, you want to make more time for self-care, you want to work toward that dream trip or house...)
When it comes to stepping into the next evolution of who you are and what you want, it is helpful to get clear on what that version of you is like.

What does the version of you who has a thriving digital business do on a typical day?
- Wear?
- Act?
- Live?
- Show up with confidence?
- Take care of their energy?
- Hang out with?
- Travel to?
^ If you want to run an online business and travel the world as a digital nomad, plug in all of the above to what feels amazing for YOU as an online business owner and what that would look like.
Sure, maybe your ideal version of yourself with the digital business flies in international first class every single time -
If that’s not doable right away, consider economy premium. Or, ordering a glass of champagne at the airport bar to get a taste.
The key: Start normalizing pieces of this now.
Doing this will help prepare you for when new, exciting (yet unfamiliar) opportunities arise and require you to take new actions.
It will help expand your comfort zone, even around exciting things that could potentially cause overwhelm.
Here's an example of this in action:
Canggu, Bali, Indonesia
Say you are working toward a move to Bali, where you will be based while you run your online business...
...this feels exciting AND unfamiliar (as in, outside your comfort zone) since you know you will have a lot of unknowns on the other side.
Follow the above prompts and start doing business tasks (even if it's still a side hustle for you!) that would align with what you would do in Bali.
You could also start normalizing your Bali move and successful business by:
Gili Trawangan, Indonesia
- joining Bali digital nomad groups on Facebook (surround yourself with like-minded people and start making connections before you even get there)
- following Bali travel accounts on Instagram and YouTube (familiarize yourself with landscapes, locations, and places to go)
- eating at an Indonesian restaurant in your hometown (familiarize yourself with the local food)
- looking up visa situations and fees if you want to stay long-term (iron out logistical details so you can plan ahead if you need to)
- showing up every day to your business with confidence and action (prepare your business to be able to support you financially before you even get there)
Whatever the next version you want to embody looks like to you, show up for it as if you trust and know it is coming your way.
And then it won't feel like as big of a shock or as far outside your comfort zone when you take action toward it and the opportunity comes.
You'll have reduced some of the overwhelm and will be prepared and ready to fully BE this version of you.
