Where To Travel in 2017!
It's a new year, which means a new year of travel possibilities!
Whether you're looking for a short vacation between work, a place to base yourself as a digital nomad, working abroad, or even backpacking around the world, there are plenty of lists on the internet that suggest where to travel this year.
I rounded up the lists of some of travel's most popular media publications - National Geographic, Lonely Planet, Travel + Leisure, and Forbes - so you can get a quick overview and learn more on their sites.
It definitely seems like Canada is making the rounds this year, as national parks are FREE (you read that - free!) in 2017, and Portugal is quickly gaining speed as an often overlooked Western European destination.
You'll find some lesser-known destinations on these lists too, like Kyrgyzstan and Papua New Guinea - so definitely read with an open mind and click through to see their recommendations!
Lonely Planet knows what's up. Definitely check out their guide to the top 10 countries to visit in 2017 - if you weren't itching to visit any of these previously, you'll have them on your list once you read their guide & see beautiful photos!
They also have lists for the top cities, regions, and value destinations as well.
This article is worth the visit on a laptop/desktop, simply for the stunning loop videos that play for each destination! They also detail the best time to go and other practical travel tips for each location.
Kaui, Hawaii, USA
Via Diarnica trail in the Western Balkan Alps (Europe) - Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and more
Tiger National Parks, India

Plenty of great ideas for budget destinations! Make sure to check this one out.
Portugal (Lisbon and Porto both mentioned!)
Burleigh Heads, Australia
Trinidad and Tobago
Forbes also has a list of their top five luxury picks for 2017. These places look incredibly cool or dreamy!
With SO many amazing places in the world to visit, T + L narrowed it down to their top 50 best places of 2017.
British Columbia, Canada
Valle de Guadalupe and Veracruz, Mexico
Keep in mind for some of these I simply wrote out the country name, where some articles referred to a specific city or region.
Lonely Planet, National Geographic, and Travel + Leisure all included Canada on their lists! We also saw Peru listed a few times, and Germany, Ecuador, Hawaii, India, South Korea, South Africa, Seychelles, Morocco, and some others also came up on multiple lists!
Go Seek Explore's top bucket list destinations from these lists include:
South Africa, Vietnam, Hawaii, and Malta...okay, let's be real, basically ALL of these destinations are on my travel list!
