Lake Bled has been on my travel list for some time now, and the gorgeous photos I see and interesting stories about the area have been feeding my wanderlust. With the origins of Lake Bled dating back to the 11th century and Slovenia's political history (Austria-Hungary, Yugoslavia....), there is so much to learn when you head to this tiny area of Europe.
In the middle of the lake is a church on an island. Traditionally, for weddings at the church, the groom must carry his bride all the way up the 99 steps.
People can take rowboats out to the island if they wish.
Overlooking Lake Bled and the church is Bled Castle.
There is a lot of natural beauty to be found at Lake Bled, making it one of the top tourist attractions in Slovenia.
Don't you wish you could teleport right into this scene?!
